Nicole Gargarella. Muskoka Bandanna Blankets. I made my first Bandanna Blanket twenty years ago from bandannas that I had tied around the roll bar of my Jeep. It instantly became my go to beach blanket or picnic blanket, and still is! Then I started making them for friends and family- by request. I live in Muskoka I love frequenting Muskoka’s farmers markets and I am happy to now be a vendor at the Rosseau market!

My work explores the nexus between the geological time and human memory, and meditates on questions of African identity and belonging. I learned the stone sculpting tradition at the age of thirteen under the tutelage of my older brother, and have been exhibiting across Canada since 2004.
