Rosseau Market 2009
Rosseau ,Ontario, Canada
Fridays 9 AM to 2 PM
July 3 to Sept. 4
in beautiful Rosseau
Fresh
from the field — Hot from the oven — Handcrafted with
care
A visit to the Rosseau Market is fast becoming
a Muskoka Lakes tradition.
Come discover those special delights that will tease
your taste buds and compliment your table. Experience our fresh produce,
smoked meats, superb baking, juried work by artists and artisans, and
much more, all prepared with pride and attention to detail and with the
highest standards.
Our entertainment under the gazebo is carefully chosen
for you and it is always live. We have a sandy beach, benches, playgound,
free children's crafts, and a grand view of Lake Rosseau.
Sample the ambience on a warm summer’s day as you
stroll through the Market. Take in the scene from a park bench while enjoying
coffee or lemonade, or while treating yourself to something special from
our ready-to-eat concessions.
Just up the road is the picturesque village of Rosseau,
with retail stores and quality boutiquesthe perfect complement to
a day at the Market.
If you love old boats and being on the water, you can take a short cruise
on Lake Rosseau right from the Market. The Idyllwood is a faithful restoration/reproduction
of a 1920’s era private yacht, with all the appointed luxury of
the period; it runs continuous one-hour cruises in comfort from the Rosseau
dock on Fridays.
It is rumoured that the Wenonah II, built with all the
by-gone style of a 1907 vessel, may again make Rosseau Market her destination
sometime this summer. Watching the Wenonah dock and depart is an experience
in itself.
We rejoice that our market has so much to enhance the
celebration of the glad days of summer. We welcome you to join us for
the fun. You can reach us by car or by boat. Bring curiosity, camera,
and a sense of adventure!
70 vendors offer a large variety of goods. All crafts are juried for
best quality.
We offer a large variety of veggies, garden art, maple syrup, wrought
iron, handcrafted furniture, farm fresh meats, first nations crafts, quality
hand sewn & knitted clothing, folk art, on site author & artist,
stained glass, baskets, baking, multi-grain & Italian bread, berries
of all kinds, jewelry, honey, hand made soaps and creams, silk painting,
massage, butterfly bowls, a large variety of cured meats, home baking,
wool yarn & comforters. There are also new guest vendors each day.
Come and enjoy the day.
Mission Statement
Our goal is to provide to the Parry Sound/Muskoka region, fresh Ontario
produce and an outlet for the products of local artists, artisans and
craftspeople. Our emphasis is on locally grown and produced items, as
available, and on land based products. Our aim is to foster the spirit
of co-operation among vendors and customers and develop a strong sense
of community, and to help preserve small farms and farmland.
